Ricardo Le Grange – A Legacy Beyond the Track
There aren’t many people like Ricardo Le Grange. He comes from the world of horse racing, one of the toughest and most niche industries out there. Not many people do what he does, and even fewer do it well.
But somehow, Ricardo has built a name that people remember — and say with real respect. When you hear Le Grange, three words often follow. Loyal, virtuous, compassionate. And honestly, you can feel it the moment you speak to him.
For Ricardo, it has always started with the horses. “The love I have for the animal always comes first,” he told me. He’s the kind of guy who makes sure the horses are not just looked after but genuinely cared for. He trusts the process he’s built over the years, and the results? They speak for themselves.
I’ve always admired that about him. He’s one of those rare people who don’t just talk about values… he lives them every day. “What you see is what you get,” he says. “If I commit to something, I am all in 100 percent.” And you know what? He really means it.

Perfectly suited for a strong reputation — and never a dull day with Ricky
One of my favourite stories he shared with me was about turning down a huge stable. They offered him a deal that would have catapulted his business: more horses, more money, the works. But the catch was, they wanted to control everything. Who to hire, how to train, how to run things.
Ricardo said no. Simple as that.
It wasn’t an easy decision, and it definitely hurt his business for a while. But like he said, “This is part of the man that I am.” And in the long run, it paid off. He attracted the right kind of clients — the ones who value who he is and how he works, not just what he can deliver.
With Singapore’s horse racing scene having come to a close last year, you’d think that would be the end of the story. But with Ricardo, the story never really ends. His name still carries weight, and people still talk about him with the same admiration.
When I asked him how he’d like to be remembered, he said, “Being remembered as someone who truly embraced life, lived with passion, and found joy in every moment.” And if you know Ricardo like I do, you’ll know — he really, really does.
Fun fact: The name Le Grange is of French origin and traditionally means the barn or the farm. Fitting, isn’t it? For someone whose life’s work has revolved around horses, barns, and all the grit that comes with it, you could say Ricardo was always destined to be exactly where he is.
